Back to reality

Good morning!

Well, we are back to reality.  After spending 5 nights in Florida, experiencing the magic of Disney and the hot Florida weather, we are back to our normal routine and already planing our next Disney vacation.  Disney World is really a magical place.  It was not my first time there, but it was our first time with the kids and the experience was so magical, it was like going for the first time.  Seeing Disney through the eyes of kids is really the best way to experience Disney World, especially Magic Kingdom.  The girls loved meeting their favorites characters, going on the may rides, and just being surrounded by everything Disney.  Even though we only had 4 days to see the 4 parks, we got to see and do everything on our list.  I got to sit down yesterday and do a couple layout from the many many pictures I got developed over the weekend (thank God for Costco's 10cents a picture sale!!)

These 2 layouts were done using Simple Stories products I had purchased from the Explore kit at the LCOM crop last month.   I can't wait to sit down and do more layouts!

the next 3 layouts are layouts I completed using CTMH Sophia  and Sweetheart kits.  They are the layouts we did at the May 15th workshops.  Hope you like them

Dehors- Sophia kit and Sophia WOTG layout
Ma Princesse- Sweetheart kit and Sweetheart WOTG layout
Des Fleurs pour Mémére Jeanne- Sophia kit and Miracle WOTG layout

So that's it for now, I'll post more Disney layouts as I complete them.  So who's coming with us to Disney in 2013??

Inspiration

Where do I find inspiration for my scrapbooking layout?  That question is somewhat easy to answer: my children.  They are so photogenic and I tend to take lots of pictures when I take my camera out, so I usually have lots of material to work with.  I like to look at magazines, the close to my Heart Idea books and I love Jeanette Lynton's how to books (Magic, Imagine and Cherish).  I also look to the internet to find layouts and sketches, like on the pagemaps site.
I also like to look at other Scapbooker's layouts.  I love how at some of my workshops, some take my kits and make something that looks completely different.  I get inspired by other people's work.  I like to take other people's ideas and make it my own.  Here is a layout that  I "scraplifted" from the Close to my Heart Idea book

I also worked on layouts for the May 15th afternoon layout using workshops on the go.  Here are the ones I completed

So what inspires you??

Spring cleaning and an Easter story

Good evening!

I'm Back!  again!  hihi.  I took a little break from scrapbooking and concentrated on my spring cleaning.  My Scrapbooking corner is now in a different corner of the basement and now new and improved!  More shelves, more room, more practical.  All it needs now is a little decor- pictures on the wall and that should be it.  The girls were glad that I did a little purging too since their scrap bin is now full of new paper.

Before I show  you some scrapbooking layout, let me tell you a story about Easter.  Marianne was learning about Easter and death and was asking a lot of questions lately.  When going to my Mom's house for Easter, we passed by the cemetery and I told her that is where her great grandmother Jeanne was buried and Marianne asked to go see.  We located the tombstone but the flower arrangement was in poor shape having spent the winter outdoors.  The girls asked if we could fix it and here is the final results.  The best arrangement in all the cemetary!!
Back in the car, Zoé (who just turned 4 this week!!) looks at her sister and says " When mémére Jeanne's not dead anymore, she's going to really love those flowers!!"  her sister then replies that mémére will stay dead and be in heaven with Jesus and God.  Zoé then asks who God is.  Marianne replies "God is Jesus' dad, A long long time ago, Mary and Joseph really wanted a baby and they tried for a very long time and when it didn't work, God gave them his son"  How cute is that!  I really wished I had a recording!  But it will sure make a nice journaling block for my scrapbooking!

So now I'm back in scrapbook mode just in time for national scrapbook month!  Here are a couple layout I did with the new CTMH You and Me kit available only for the month of May.

I love the colors, the kits come with everything you see in the layout!

I went to a crop this past weekend and I got a lot accomplished so I should have a couple blogs worth of material to work with.  After two full days of scrapbooking for a total of 18 hours, is it normal to want to come home and do more scrapbooking???  See you soon!!

Princess party

Princess party invitation

My baby is turning 4 this month.  We have worked yesterday and today to finish up her invitations and we are really happy with how they turned out!  She was right there with me chosing paper, stamp sets and telling me to add more glitter.  Zoé is really a girly-girl, the typical princess type, with a great big helping of funny.  Kind of a cross between princess and jester.   Happy Birthday and little princess clown!!

snow, snow and more snow.....

Is anyone else hidden under a great big pile of snow?  It really is amazing.  The kids love it and I love watching them play in the white stuff.   I decided that since I can't do anything about the snow, I was going to enjoy it. I've worked hard on a snow fort in the backyard and well as maintaining the sledding slop in front.  How fun is it to have this amazing white playground for the kids to play in.  And then, drinking a cup a hot chocolate coming in from a great afternoon of sledding is one of the small pleasures in life that I love sharing with the kids.

Another pleasure is watching Zoé play with her friends at my daycare.  I had looked for pictures of the kids on their own when I was working on the canvas projects we made for Christmas and I had a hard time finding one without Zoé in the shot.  She just loves them and is always hugging.  I decided to make a scrapbook layout of some of the pictures of Zoé and her friends. Here it is:

I will have more layouts during the week.  I'm working now on adding journaling to some of my layouts.  I've got a lot of writing to do as I'm way behind.  See you guys soon!!

love

Christmas gift project

I sometimes have creative ideas out of the blue. I had leftover canvas from a scapbooking class I had hosted a couple weeks ago laying around, and bottles of finger paint that I found in my kid's craft corner and I had one of those ideas.  I would have the kids I had at my daycare paint on a canvas and then scrapbook their picture on it.  The kids has so much fun making it and I did too.  I love those kids so much and it was a joy to put 2 of my passions together like that.  The final product turned out even better than I had hoped, and I think the parents were impressed as well.  I loved how they all turned out so different, as unique and special as the child pictured in the art.  I could not wait until Christmas, I gave them their gift today.  Here they are.

Starting to feel like Christmas - kind of...

Despite the wind (lots of it..) and the rain, I'm starting to finaly feel in the Christmas mood.  I'm almost done shopping, the Christmas tree is up, the Christmas CD is playing.  What gets me in the mood every year is the wrapping of presents.  I love it!  I've also started a Christmas project that I'll show you next weekend, once I've delivered them. I don't want to spoil the suprise.  In the meantime, here are some more Studio J layouts that I completed.  Can't wait to get the printouts in the mail this week!!

The pictures in this layout were taken at a nearby corn maze last October.  The kids loved playing in the maze.  They had this funny game where you had to color a finger with chalk at each of the 5 stations in the maze, when you came out, you had to look up your color combination and perform a funny task.  We'll definitely be returning next year.  The kit used is exclusive to Studio J and is called Boo!.

We had so much fun this year at Halloween with the kids I babysit.  They all came with costumes that they swapped during the day.  They are so cute! How could you not make a layout with these pretty faces?  The kit used in this layout is Giggles and Grins.

I love this layout of my girls playing in the leaves.  I used the Olivia kit for this layout

See you soon! I have presents waiting to be wrapped.  Fun, fun fun!
