Spring and new beginings

Well, I guess blogging about my plateau was enough to get me out of my slump.  I went to my weigh in yesterday and lost a few pounds!  Feels great.  I'm ready, I'm refreshed and ready to face this new phase of my challenge.  Thanks to the friends that e-mailed to lend encouragements.  I was very much appreciated!  It makes it so much easier to have your support!

Having the longer days is also helping with my mood.  Even though it's still nippy, seeing my tulips and hyacinths poking through is a fun sight to see.

So on the scrapbooking side.  I've been having a blast at the LCOM forum.  First they had a forum party full of fun games and challenges and second I enrolled in the Scrappin with the starts 10 week challenge.  I've survived the first two rounds and am now on week 3 with the greatest challenge yet!  Te see the reveals and the coplete challenges, chek out the LCOM forum.    Why don't you play along and show me what you can make following these guidelines :

Week 1 : Make a multi-photo layout (3 or more pics) with pattern paper only, no cardstock! All kinds of embellies, alphas, etc. are allowed. Also, the layout must have handwritten journaling!

Week 1 - CTMH winterland

Week 2 :So this week's challenge is to do a scrapcapture of Krissy's layout and incorporate ALL 4 of her "must do's"!!!
They are:
1) Distressed edges on paper
2) 2 or more patterned papers
3) Sewing or doodling
4) A Banner of some sort

Week 2 - Bo bunny

Week 3 : Make a layout incorporating these things.
1.   Bright colours
2.   “Boy” embellishments. No flowers or bling. 
3.   Pattern paper background
4.   Handwritten journaling on journaling card/tag or label stickers
5.   Something with dimension (not just flat on the page)
6.   Title with more than one size of font  


This one is going to be hard!!  I don't even know if I have bright colored 'boy' embellishments.  An no bling or flowers?!?!   My 3rd week layout will be revealed next Tuesday.



I've also been able to complete the Creative scrapper's sketch 201 - You have until March 31st to post your layout on their site for a chance to win a prize!

plateau

I've hit a plateau on my weight loss journey.  I seem to be at the same point as where I was in mid January, gaining and losing the same pounds is seems.  It's time to shift gears and motivate myself to lose the last 12 pounds I want to lose to reach my weight goal.  I'm giving myself until my birthday in June and as a reward, I'm going on a shopping spree.  So here's my plan : excercise and stick to the meal plan for the next weeks!  So there I said it, you heard me.  Now that I have it in writing, it makes it official.  Now who's coming shopping with me??

Another productive crop

Thanks again to Kristine Davidson for hosting another amazing crop!  I don't remember when I laughed so much!  I also appreciate being able to share the weekend with my Mom.  On Friday, before we left, my daughter was sad that Mémére was leaving with me and she could not spend more time with her.  I explained to her that it was my turn to spend time with Mémére and my daughter looked at me and said you're right.  I love them so much!

Welcome Spring!!

This week, we took out the sidwalk chalk, jump ropes and bikes!  It's been very warm and the snow is quickly melting away.  It was quite a funny site seeing Zoé play in the cul-de-sac snow hill in snow pants mittens and her Minnie baseball cap.  Hoping to get a chance to scrapbook those pictures during this weekend's crop.  In the meantime, take a look at these layout.

March already!!

Well it's official!  March break is here!  Hoping to get some rest and relaxation and hopefully some scrapbooking time in there as well.  I made My first March layout- about Christmas!  and the other layout is of my mom, when she was 6 months old.

Anyone have plans for March break!
