Seeing Red

It must be my scientific background to look for trends.  First it was seeing myself in most of my layout, now it's a colour.  I've been using alot of reds.  Here are some layouts I did over the past week.  The first one inspired by in sketch in Kristine Davidson's Creative Scrapper's Creating with sketchs book which I highly recommend (FYI - There is a giveaway on her blog, plus I'm featured too!!) .  The other one is inspired by Creative scrapper's sketch 205, both of them red.

Enjoy!

Better get snapping!

I've scrapbooked almost all the pictures I had printed in the last couple months!  I don't remember that ever happening before.  Better take more pictures, I've got another  crop coming up soon!

All the following layouts were done during Kelly Goree's Designer Dozen class.  Love her and her class!  Loved how these layouts turned out

This last layout was really fun!  We took circles and folded them over squared to make this 3D effect.  Really easy and the results is really cool.

And if I learned anything during kelly Goree's class is that I need a simple scallop border punch!

See you soon!

Crop and Create withdrawals

Well I've said it a few times, but I am suffering from Crop and Create withdrawals.  Completing the layouts we made in the classes, I find myself missing the feeling of comraderie and the positive energy that was present at the crop.  Where else but at a crop do you find a group of ladies dropping everything to find the a red button when you say 'I think this flower needs a red button in the center'.  Or a bunch of ladies going crazy when they announce that they are going to draw for a 5$ pack of wood butterflies.  Or a bunch of ladies all as pasionate about scrapbooking as I am.  Can't wait for next year when they return.

So as promised, here are some of the layout we made during the classes, but before here is my LCOM scrapping with the stars Week 6 challenge layout -
We had to make a "boyish" layout not using bling of flowers and no pink or purple.

The 2 folowing layouts are from Kelly Goree's Paper Mixology class :

The next 2 layouts are from Vicki Boutin's Easy Detailed, Expert class

I still have the layouts from Kelly Goree's Designer doozen classe to complete.  hopefully I'll get them done and post the results over the weekend.

Have a great day!

AMAZING crop!!!

I'm still on a scrapbooking high!  Crop and Create was even more fun than I anticipated.  The amount of talent, inspiration and positive energy in the room was insane and that was not even counting the organizers and manufacturers and stores that were onsite to teach and enable us.  We laughed, we cried and then we laughed again all while getting to know new friends and catching up with old one.  I will definitely be returning next year!  Thanks you Scrapbook and Cards Today!!!

Want to see what I accomplished over the weekend?  Well here you are!

Here are some of the make and takes we made over the weekend

And here are some of the layouts I made :

This one was for an alpha challenge :  notice the flourish on the bottom right had corner?  They are "f" s and commas!!  I also used dots from another alpha set on the banner

this one was for a Colour suite challenge :

And this one was for a sketch challenge :

I have more that need to me completed - all the layouts I made during the classes.  I'll post thoses later this week.

Have a great day!

Crop and Create!

I'm so excited!!  In a couple of days I'll be at Crop and Create Moncton, an event brought to us by Scrapbooking and cards today!  I've been a fan of the ladies I'm going to be taking classes with.  It's going to be a thrill to see them in person!

I've survived another challenge in LCOM's scrappin' with the stars - We are now in week 6, our new challenge will be revealed tomorrow.  Another project to work on at the crop!
For week 5, we were asked to make a layout using at least 3 different manufacterers, using green, there had to be a border around the layout.  Here is my week 5 layout :

For the other layout I created this week, it was a scrapcapture challenge again on the LCOM forum.  Thanks Kristine Davidson for an awesome layout that inspired me!

Hopefully I'll have tons of layout to showcase next week!  Have a great weekend everyone!!!

4 day weekend

I had a much needed 4 day weekend.  We had to change our plans somewhat because of a snow storm, but it was for the best as it gave us a chance to relax.  We ended up staying in pyjamas all day at Easter and just spending time with the girls.  I got to play in my scraproom and complete another layout for the scrapin with the stars challenge.  If you remember from last week, I had to step out of my comfort zone and make a layout without bling or flowers using bright colors.  Here's what I did using CTMH upcoming Dotty for you paper pack
CTMH

For the 4th challenge, we had to avoid bright colors, used flowers and bling and had to matt everything in black.  Here's what I came up with

Finaly, here is another layout a finished today.  Two layouts in what week where I'm the center of attention!  Now that's a first!

Hope you enjoyed your Easter too.  Thanks for looking!
