Christmas preparations

Well today is the last day of work before Christmas break starts.  As I'm writing, I'm watching the kids watch Mickey's twice upon a Christmas with a bowl of popcorn.  A great way to start another Christmas party!  I love this time of year.  The kids are so happy, anticipating Christmas morning and all the treats they are going to enjoy.  I feel so blessed and happy.
Let me now share a few layouts I made since I last posted.

Today was reveal day over at Let's Capture our memories.  Here is what I created with sketch no 163:

bulledegoop_zps4591db7a

Last week's reveal featured sketch no 162.  I loved this sketch and I had the perfect picture and paper to use it with!  I love this kid!
smile

And here is another layout I made inspired by LCOM's 12 days of Christmas preparations challenges.  We had to use a house element on our layout.  I used window :)  I used some Simple stories paper and wanted small pieces to make the banners on the side but did not want to cut into my 12X12 paper, so I used the title sheet, the packaging.  Love the fact that they are glossy as well.  Matches with my daughter's shining personality :)

On that note, hope you all have a very merry Christmas and  Happy holidays.  wishing you all the best for the coming year!!

Makeover!!!

I love my blog makeover!  Thank you so much Kristine Davidson for making it so pretty!
Now that I'm here, i should show you some of the layouts I created since the last post.  I managed to create a few Halloween layouts.
The first one is a LCOM sketch, I was featured in the reveal today.  I used som My little shoebox.  Went perfectly with Marianne's costume.
The next one is of the cutest pumpkin I've ever seen!  She is such a darling, I love her so much.  The Bo Bunny Apple Cider coordinated perfectly too!

And this last one I used some CTMH paper and brads.  I love this line as it is Halloween paper, but you could possibly use it for other occasions as well (using the backside of the owl paper of course).  I also used embossed stickers I had lying around.

Well, that's it for now- off to make Christmas decorations. Have a great weekend!

12 days of Christmas Preparations...

Hello there!

It's been a few weeks since I last blogged.  Time just seems to run on fast forward sometimes.  I've been really busy with my Close to my Heart and Epicure Selections business in the last month.  It  was great!  Love it!

Now I need to catch up a little on my scrapbooking and I have to remind myself to keep taking pictures,  I seem to forget lately.    Now to add to my scrapbooking resume, I have started creating sketches!  Some were featured on the Let's Capture these sketches website and it was exciting seeing what the different talented scrapbookers did with my sketches.

My first one was  LCTS sketch # 157.  Here it is

and here is what I made using it that sketch and some Bo bunny, My little bit of whimsy pin, and soem Prima wooden embellies :

My sketch was also sketch #158 :
and here is what I made using that sketsh, and one again some Bo bunny:

I also made a few layout using Creative Scrappers sketches
this one was made using sketch # 234 some Studio Calico paper and my beautiful daughter's  class pictures

And here is a layout using sketch # 233 and some gorgeous Authentique paper.
I just love the feel of that paper!

Now, if you are looking for a bit of inspiration and a little boost to get your mojo running, I've got an idea for you!  Head on over to Let's Capture our Memories forum and look for the 12 days of Chrismat Preparation posts!  I will be posting a new scrappy challenge each day starting today and running for the next 12 days.  Don't forget to post your creations for a chance to win a prize!

Here is the day 1 challenge : First thing to do to get ready for the Holiday season and to get in the spirit of the holidays is to put a little Christmas music on.  So your first challenge is to create a card, a layout or an altered item using a song as your inspiration.  For example, you could use song lyrics as a greeting in your card or a song title as you Layout title.  It's up to you.

Good luck and have fun!

LCTS- Sketch #152 reveal

Good morning!

Today is a very special day.  It's our wedding anniversary.  As of today, I've been married to the love of my life and best friend for 11 years.  Sometimes it feels like it was only yesterday, sometimes I feel like I've known him forever.   So a great big HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!  to my very loving and supportive husband, Love you!!!

Here we are during our trip to NYC last month using some new Bo Bunny

OK, enough with the sap :)   I'm here today to share with you this week's reveal wich I was a part of over at Let's Capture These Sketches.  It's sketch # 152, and it's absolutly gorgeous!

And here is my take on the sketch.  I decided to try a Manhattan while in Manhattan.  Just not for me, lol.   I used CTMH's Avonlea collection : the paper pack, and the stickers.  Added a few pearls and finished it off with the canvas alphas.  LOVE those alphas from CTMH also!

Here is a layout i did using  Creative scrapper's sketch # 225.  It sure was foggy on Marianne's first day of school!

And this last layout I used a sketch using CTMH's Jeannette Lynton's new sketch book : Make it from the heart.  If you loved Magic, Imagine and the  other sketch books she published, you are going to love the new fomat and gorgeous new sketches included in this book.
For this fun layout, I used Simple Stories Summer fresh kit.

Well that's it for today.  Hope you all have a great long weekend and see you soon!

Thankful

Does anyone know where September went?  I think I missed it.  It sure went by fast.  We celebrated a milestone this month with Zoé starting school.  As we expected, she loves it.  I really enjoy the play by play I get a soon as she steps out of the bus.  Hope she continues to love school as much when she's older.  Marianne entered grade 4!  They sure are growing up fast.

I had the chance to catch up on my scrapbooking this weekend as I attended LCOM's crop.  What an amazing time spent laughing, talking and creating with a bunch of very talented, awesome ladies.  I came equipped with my Sketches provided by Creative Scrappers and Lets Capture These Sketches and a car full of supplies.

Here are some lyout I had done before the crop :

This first one is of Zoé's first day of Kindergarten.  I used CTMH's new scholastic line.  This is actually my September kit of the month layout.  I still have a few available.

This layout I made last a couple of weeks ago when I was having a down day.  Had myself some scrapbooking therapy session and it changed my mood.  I used CTMH's new Flirty line to make it.

This layout was made using Let's capture these sketches Sketch # 148  and pictures of our August trip to NYC
Here is my take on sketch #146 over at Let's capture these sketches.  I used some Basic Grey paper that seemed perfect to represent the NYC skyline we saw On top of the Rock.  Love the My Little Bit of Whimsy button I added too.
Here is my take on Sketch # 150 over at Let's Capture These Sketches.   I just love Authentique paper.  I used the Delightfull paper collection on this one with some Webster's Pages trim and Prima flowers.
The last two layout are scraplifted from the CTMH Autumn/Winter Idea book.  I changed them a bit. The first one is from page 50 using the flirty collection.
The second one is from the Avonlea collection as seen on the cover of the idea book

That's it for now.  Hope you have a wonderful day!  See you soon :)

NYC

Well, vacation is over and now it's time to get back in the routine of things.  Still a couple more weeks of summer before the kids head off to school and I plan to make the most of it.  We just arrived from the most amazing trip.  We enjoyed a 5 day road trip to New York.  I was amazed at how much we crammed in to our 3 days of sightseeing.  We did a whole lot of driving, a whole lot of walking and a whole lot of eating.  What's up with those american serving sizes!  My husband an I shared meals most of the week and we always had leftovers!  It was so good.  The best was the Brownie cheesecake the enjoyed at Tops diner.  We shared on piece for desert one night and had leftovers for breakfast the next day.  Yes they were that big and so delicious

Now that the pictures are all uploaded, all that's left is to process them and scrapbook them.  Can't wait to have time to scrapbook again after a 2 week break.  Here are some of the layouts I did before vacation.  Check out some of the new CTMH paper packs!  They are so pretty!

This first layout made with Bo Bunny's little miss with some Prima flowers and a CTMh ribbon bow
This layout was made for LCOM sketch blog using sketch # 144  The paper and accessories are all from the new CTMH fall catalogue.  Love the burlap ribbon!

I love that my daughter has amzing friends.  Love theses pictures and could not wait to scrap them
Here is the burlap ribbon again!  I used it to make a banner.  The paper 3d fabric flowers and canvas stickers are from the new CTMH Clementine collection
Have an amazing reste of summer!

Homesick

We just spent the weekend in Caraquet.  The kids spent the week there at their grand-parent's house.  they crammed more activities in a week than we did the whole summer so far.  We arrived home a day early as the girls were really missing their home.  We only got a glimpse of the Acadian festival.  I'm kind of sad that we will not be seeing more of it this year, but it will still be there next year.  Since we were home early, I go to do a little scrapbooking.  I received new goodies and printed new pictures so the creative juices were flowing.  Here are some of the layouts I did.

This first one is made using the new CTMH Flirty collection and Creative Scrapper's sketch  # 218

Another Creative scrapper's loayout this time it's sketch # 215 and some pretty Crate paper.
This one was challenge no 7 over at LCOM's 12 days of summer.  I used Fancy Pants and Simple Stories paper with CTMH and Prima embelishments.
This last one was done for the 12 days of summer challenge over at Let's Capture our Memories  I used some Doodlebug design paper with some MLBOW

LCOM reveal

We are now in the middle of summer vacations and I'm really enjoying it.  We went camping at Fundy national park last weekend and we had such a wonderful time.  Looking forward to going camping again next weekend.  I'm also looking forward to our road trip my husband and I will be doing to celebrate our 15 years together.  We will be joined by our good friends Pascal and Katia.

On the scrapbooking side : It was reveal time yesterday on the LCOM sketch blog.  I loved working with this sketch!

Here is what I came up with :

It's Marianne stuffed dog nammed Scrappy.  She made the costume with construction paper, kleenex and yarn.  The kid's got imagination!

Summer

Ah Summer!  I usually loath the heat.  I used to be unable to sleep at night and that lead to me being cranky.  Having to spend my days cooped up in the basement to escape the heat.  Those days are over.  We now have a heat pump!  what a difference it makes.  I'm actually enjoying the summer and the heat.  I can even bake!  My oven used to get a break during the summer since it used to heat up the house.  I love summer!  :)

And another reason I love summer : CTMH convention!  I could not attend this year but tagged along tanks to twitter, facebook and CTMh blogs.  I also go to preview the new catalogue!  Amazing products to come.  Can't wait to share it all with you.

To other news, I am now a proud member of the Let's Capture our Memories Sketch design team!  I get to work with amazing artists and make layout using a different sketch every other week.  Check it out!

Here is my layout using Bo Bunny's Hello sunshine paper :

I also made this layout using Crate paper

And this one too using one of my new favorite manufacturer - Authentique paper.  Just love the texture of it.  Works great with CTMH wood embelishments and My little bit of whimsy button

Me time

Well what a great couple of weeks I've just spent.  I've been busy now that school is out.  Having all the kids all day long has been exhausting, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.  It helps alot when the weather is nice, they love playing outside.
Last weekend I had the most amazing girl's weekend. My girlfriend picked me up in the morning and we went shopping.  I badly needed summer clothes and went on a shopping spree.  What an amazing feeling to be able to go in almost any store in the mall and be able to find something that fit!  At this time last year, I was only able to shop in the plus size section.  It felt awesome!  We went to lunch and then went to see Magic Mike.  We then ordered pizza and just sat around drinking sangria and wine and chatted.  In the morning, the kids and the hubbies joined us for a brunch.  We'll have to make this a yearly event.  It was the perfect solution to charge up my battery and get some precious me-time.

I did not make time to scrapbook much in the last couple weeks.  I think I need new supplies to get the juices flowing again, and maybe some fresh pictures.  We'll see what we can dream up over the weekend.  Until then here are a few layout I did mange to make since my last blog entry.  Have an awesome day everyone!!

This first layout is made Fancy pants It's the little things collection using a sketch from the Creating with sketches book by Kristine Davidson.  I have the digital version it on my Kobo and it comes with me to every crop - I highly recommend it!
Poor Zoé waiting for the other kids to finish eating so she can have her dessert.  lol

This next one uses the same paper pack, with Thickers, Prima flowers and trim.

And this last layout using a picture taken at a crap with my awesome scrappy friends.  I used 4heur37 paper, thickers and prima flower and bling.

Deadline extended

 Good morning!

I have extended my deadline- My birthday was yesterday and I still have 4 pounds to lose for my goal weight.  I decided I was not going to be hard on myself- I will focus on the progress I made.  I'm close enough to the finishing line that I can give mysellf a little slack.  right? I started this journey last year on July 15th- I will give myself until then to lose those last pesky pounds.  I can do it!
I hardly had time to scrapbook this last week, I only made one layout, but i have a few more that I made at the crop a couple weeks ago that I can share.
Hope you like them.  have a great day!

Here is a layout I made with the Dotty for you paper pack from CTMH.  I also used a cupcake form my little bit of whimsy  and some thickers from American crafts.

This next layout uses Bo Bunny's Alora kit.  Love the bright colors

This next layout is the only one I made this week during LCOM's birthday bash 1 hour challenged.  Amazing what I can create when given a deadline.  lol
I used Basic Grey's Wonder paper along with some CTMH bling and buttons and Prima flowers

For this last one, I used Bo Bunny's serenity kit.  with a Creative Scrapper's sketch.

Hello Sunshine!

 Good morning!

I've been very busy these last few weeks and the time is just flying by.  I can't believe that we are already a week in June!  Yesterday Zoé went to visit the school she'll be attending in September.  Kindergarden already!  She's more than ready, but I'm not ready to see her get on that big yellow bus just yet.  I still have a few more months to get used to the idea.
Other than that, I've been scrapbooking.  I attended another one of Kristine Davidson's crop with Creative scrappers.   She also had an online crop- full of challenges and prizes.  Just love her sketches. What fun we had and it was a a very productive weekend.  I got to play with the new Hello Sunshine kit from Bo Bunny.  Love the colors and how fun it is.  I can't resist kits with insects on them.  I also created a layout about Marianne's introduction to entomology.  Her new passion.

Here are some of the layouts I finished over the weekend :

The next 3 layouts are made with the Bo Bunny Hello sunshine paper and creative scrappers sketches:

This layout was made with a Creative Scrapper's sketch provided for the online crop - I used Basic Grey's What's up collection
And this layout was  created with come Crate paper random collection and a Prima butterfly
Have a great day!!!

final countdown

This week, I've added countdown widgets on my  smartphone.  My kids are always asking me 'in how many sleep' certain events will take place, so now I have the app on my phone to calculate it.  A while back I had given myself a goal of reaching my goal weight by my birthday.  Looking at my phone, this deadline is now only 2 weeks away!  I still have a few pounds to lose by my goal is within reach, what an awesome birthday gift I am giving myself!  I'll keep you updated on my progress, stay tuned....

In the meantime, here are some layouts I completed recently:

Using Simple Stories's Awesome collection, I made the next 2 layouts : one for me and one for the artist to take home :)

The next 2 are from a Kristine Davidson kit I purchased - Love her sketches- I've added Prima flowers and various embelishments I had on hand
