Reno update

I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!  My scrapbook room will be ready in just a few days!  I'm hosting a crop on Saturday to celebrate.  As for the rest of the renovations, they are progressing.  We slept in our new master bedroom for the second time last night.  It's not completely done, still a few details to take care of, but it's coming along.  We painted our old room which is to become Marianne's room.  That room should be done by the weekend too. 

Despite not having a functioning scrapbook area.  I managed to make quite a few layouts on my kitchen table, and at LCOM's last crop.  Here are a few :

Fist here is a layout using LCOM sketch no 17. 
Zoé loves her rythmic gymnastic classes.  These are a few of the pictures my father in law took at one of her classes.  I used some Bo bunny and Authentique paper along with some Webster's pages ribbon

Another LCOM sketch was used to make this layout.  Zoé is a very affectionate little girl.  She's always hugging me.  She is my little velcro.  I used some Kaisercraft and CTMH to complete this layout

We were presented with a few challenged at the last LCOM crop.  The first one was a sketch challenge using a PageMaps sketch  I had just received my Dream Pop kit from CTMH and was eager to use it.  Love the colors and the resist cardstock that come with it.  I used pictures from when Zoé met her favorite Disney Princess, Merida. 

And this last layout was the result of a one hour challenge.  I used some Bo Bunny paper that I flet went perfectly with the pictures.  I often bring the little ones I babysit on the bus to go to the library.  they love the ride!

I also made a card for a dear friend who celebrated a milestone birthday recently.  As I did not have any Graphic 45 paper, I had to settle on this pretty Webster's Pages paper.  I decorated it with pretty Prima flowers and leaves. 

 

Moncton Crop and Create 2013

What an amazing time I just had at Crop and Create here in Moncton over the weekend!  A room full of ladies sharing the same passion for scrapbooking, a team of fantastic, fun and talented teachers, so much scrapbooking goodies, what more could we ask for?  It was just what I needed to get inspired and create, to get my mojo running again.

I was not only able to attend 3 wonderful classes, I came home with all the layouts completed with pictures and everything!  Want to see?

My first class was Friday night with Vicki Boutin.  I love her!  She's so fun and full of life. We made 2 double page layouts while learning new techniques.  We did paper fringing, masking and stamping using stamps and paper cups to make circles and paper piecing using products from My Mind's Eye, Webster's pages, Doodlebug Designs and Hero Arts.  I changed it up a bit from her original layout adding Thickers to make a title and using the other side of some of the paper she used.  It was so much fun and I got to start adding layouts to my Disney album! How exciting is that!


The first layout features pictures from one of my highlight of our Disney trip, our diner at the Be our Guest restaurant.  We were so overwhelmed by the decor that we actually forgot to take pictures!  Entering the ballroom, seeing the snow falling on the mountains in the huge windows, the music and the gorgeous chandeliers under the painted ceiling left us in awe.  The food was the best we had all week.  It is definitely on top of our list to do for our next Disney trip.

The next two features pictures from our our hotel.  Art of Animation Resort was simply perfect.  We loved all the the little details that made this resort magical.  We stayed in the Little Mermaid wing where everything is scaled to Sebastian's point of vu, so Ariel, is 3 stories high!  Our room was decorated in mermaid theme- see bottom carpet, Ariel's grotto shower, Octopus hooks for our jackets, shell shaped chairs and bed.  It's just too bad that the weather was too cold to take advantage of the pool.

Nostalgique

 If you read my blog last week you may remember me mentionning that a friend of mine challenged me to create a layout about how my youngest daughter looks so much like me.  I had a idea of making a layout with both of our kindergarden class pictures.  So as i was looking through past pictures of myself and of my girls I could not help but have a smile on my face.  Happy memories all around.  Here is what I created

 Using the same Basic Grey collection I created this layout of me at my grandparent's house at my second birthday.  I have such fond memories of that house and the view we had from that window. 

And again from the same collection I made the following layout.  I was excited to see that the background paper was vintage map of the Maritimes in french!  I could not cover it up so I used a collage from Basic Grey's Clippings and added a picture of my handsome husband taken during our trip to NY last year.  A very easy layout but I love it!

Now let's see what I can create with the rest of the collection pack.  :)

long weekend

Well what an awesome weekend we just had.  We had hot weather that made it so much easier to accomplish our backyard overhaul.  We were so very thankfull for all the help we received as we would still be shoveling pea gravel right now if it wasn't for the friends that donated their muscles and time. a great big THANK YOU!!!  here is our new backyard- safer and with raised beds garden.  I love it! :

We spent so much time outside, that my scraproom was a little neglected over the last week, but I still managed to get a few layouts done.    Here they are :

This first one is my last entry in the scrappin' with the stars challenge- I had to do a black and white and one more color layout - I had to alter the title letters somehow - I inked CTMH eclectic chipboard letters with black ink- Unfortunatly I did not advance to the final round but got over it pretty quick when Zoé said to me : " Maman, It does not matter, we know you had the prettiest layout"

This layout uses a variety of papers - Lillibee, Bo bunny, Simple stories, Kaisercraft and some pretty Websters page trim

And this last one of my lovely daughter using Cosmo Cricket,  Bo bunny and Prima
